We have signed a contract with Flock Safety for three cameras, one at each entrance, to monitor traffic into the neighborhood. It will tag each car that drives into the neighborhood reading their license plate, make, model and color of the vehicle and determine if it’s a resident or not. It will also record when an animal or person comes into view although that’s not it’s main purpose.
We will be asking everyone to register their license plates into a database so the system know which are which. Details will be coming soon. This service will cost each homeowner about $25 per year. The HOA will absorb the cost for 2020 but you can expect to see a slight increase in HOA fees next year to cover the expense.
If a crime is committed in our neighborhood, Collierville Police will have access to the footage for review. Flock Safety is working closing with Collierville Police and Flock Safety is spreading quickly throughout the town.
We are hoping to have everything up and running by the end of November although we are still waiting for a definite date. Please feel free to review their website and learn more at flocksafety.com.
Keep an eye out for additional details as they become available.
